Mission: Waiting for the End
Location: Bridge, USS Enterprise
Timeline: 3189-03-16, 00:00

The Bridge doors slid open allowing Captain Willian Targaryen a full view of the command center of his ship. Despite the presence of his entire Senior Staff on the Bridge, the Night Watch had just begun and was in full swing as the ship dealt with the simulated night. Even though he was exhausted though, the former Admiral doubted he would get any rest tonight. He wondered if he'd get any rest any time in the near future.

"Captain on the Bridge," Galatea announced from her workstation, bringing the entire crew to attention that Willian had arrived.

Quickly the Captain answered, "As you were. How goes our refit?"

"They'll efficient I'll give them that," Hawkins responded. "Upgrade to our offensive and defensives systems have been completed along with enhancement to our sensors and the installation of a cloaking device - a Starfleet one no less!"

"I'd love to see what all they'd have gotten done if they'd had the full 18 hours," Willian joked, as he glanced at Ash.

"How goes the arrivals of our newcomers?" Targaryen asked next.

Bishop grimaced, "Coming along sir...slowly. Have some two hundred new arrivals sir. Gonna take me some time to put faces to names as I meet them but I'll get there." Bishop assured the Enterprise's CO.

Willian nodded, "I've had the opportunity to meet some of them. Including Mister Crowe over there," he said looking at the Helmsman.

"Happy to be here," the Australian youngster answered.

"Doc, you'll have to get physicals scheduled for all the new arrivals. Your new Nurse will probably be a good place to start," Willian said to his CMO.

Cyrus gave a nod, "Going to be some doing but we'll be able to do so." he walked over to where Alves was at, "Looks like you get to be first then we'll get things sorted out for the rest of them." he had a slight harried look on his face but he will be buckling down and getting this done. Then a lazy smile drifted over his face. "Shall we?"

"We'll get there Doctor Marner." Lucia gave a reassuringly confident reply. "If I am first then I can help with the others."

Looking to his Security Chief, "Patton, have we been able to arrange accommodations for these new arrivals?"

After he heard that the accommodations had all be put into place, the Captain continued their preparations for departure. "Counselor, I'll expect you to help the new personnel integrate," he said to the Caitian seated next to the Captain's Chair.

"Of course, Captain. I'd be happy to. We do have a lot of newbies. I'll do my best to help them integrate." She smiled at him. She was rarely in a bad mood. She enjoyed her job and serving on the Enterprise. "After all, that is part of my job." Her tail swishes excitedly.

The Captain nodded, "Too true, Counselor, too true." Seeing Zim, "And in some cases deintegrate. How do you like wearing the Federation Security uniform, Chief?"

Zim wanted to grunt, he could feel the grunt of disdain rise up within him. However, it would be unfitting to respond in such a way to the Captain. "This uniform fits as well as any others. However, I hope to be able to return to the red one as soon as this special assignment is complete. The security uniform makes me feel like someone painted a target on my back"

Willian looked at Galatea before he answered his Chief of the Boat, his look telling the former artificial intelligence more than his words ever could. "As soon as this mission is over, Chief, I can assure you that we'll be getting you back in the right uniform."

"We'll see," Galatea answered as she typed on the nearby console.

The more time he spent with this Starfleet the more he wanted to go back to the one he knew. This Starfleet seems to use people however they see fit with no input from the people. What happened to him in this very moment was a prime example of this point. There was nothing for it at the moment and Zim knew it. He straightened his uniform tunic and remained stoic as ever, as he awaited further orders.

Hearing the turbolift doors open the Captain greeted, "Welcome to the Bridge, High Commissioner." The Captain had just received news that Jasmine was coming along as the Federation's eyes and ears on this mission, their delegate to help supervise. "Time for us to get this show on the road," the former Admiral confirmed as he approached his Captain's Chair. Taking a seat, he sat forward as the holographic interfaces appeared to the side. Pecking at the controls he opened a shipwide channel, "All hands, this is the Captain. We have been alone for a long time, faced insurmountable odds, but we have survived and found our home. Now, the Federation calls upon us once more. Battle Group Omega is at risk and with it so too is the Federation's future. We will work together to bring them back from the brink. For Starfleet and for the Federation! Standby for departure."

Closing the channel he looked forward, "Let's get to work people. Helm, set a pursuit course for the shuttle and engage at maximum warp. We will find them and we will figure this out."
