350 words; about a 2 minute read

Mission: Burning in the Skies
Location: NX Kumari
Timeline: 0000-00-00, 15:45

Biss materialised on his ship. He took off his leather jacket and threw it in the corner of the transporter room as he stepped off the pad.

He moved towards the front of the ship and the bridge.

"What's happening, boss?" The busty Bajoran hologram asked as he entered the bridge.

"They're from the past. They have a storage room full of dilithium and they aren't willing to share so I'm going to get someone to crack that egg open. Hopefully they will be a substantial finder's fee for this!" Biss said as he sat down at the helm.

He turned to the Klingon hologram, "Decloak the ship and raise the shields. Full sensors on that ship. Once you have a full count on how much dilithium is on board, bombard all subspace frequencies with that information and their coordinates."

"Of course, boss." The Klingon female replied with an alluring grin. "Got the information, now transmitting on all frequencies."

"Good!" The Andorian grinned. "We could make some serious money from that ship."

"Boss, I'm detecting some sort of Coaxial drive coming online." The scantily clad Andorian Engineering Holo said from her console.

"Coaxial drive?" Biss asked as he turned to the Engineering Holo.

"It was an experimental drive in the late 24th and early 25th centuries. The research was eventually abandoned due to not being an unsafe and unstable way to travel." The Holo explained. "If we remain this close it will do a lot of damage to our systems, boss."

Biss rolled his eyes, "They're just trying to scare us away so we stop giving away their position."

"I'm not sure boss, readings are rising quickly." The Holo replied. Suddenly the red alert klaxon sounded. "They're activating it!"

"Shit!"

Biss awoke on the floor of his dark and smokey bridge. He coughed slightly as he began to push himself up off the floor. "Computer, damage report." He asked, his voice horse.

"Main power is off line. Hull armour is down to 15%. Life support is failing."

"You bastards…" Biss said before falling to the floor unconscious again.
