Mission:
Burning in the Skies
Location: Sickbay
Timeline: 0000-00-00, 15:35
Jasmine was laying on the bio bed, trying not think about what had transpired. But it was hard to do with Ryan stressing next to her. She looked over to him, and said with compassion. "Relax I am fine, the doctor is taking good care of me." Jasmine said, as she laid in bed for a few minutes. She was just recouping now. She was waiting for the good doctor to give her the go ahead order, to walk on her leg.
“I can see that,” Ryan replied. “I am not needed elsewhere at the moment so I will stay here with you.”
"Oh really a Captain in Starfleet, is needed no where else?" Jasmine asked, with a big grin on her face. She knew he was full of crap. He was staying because of his feeling for her. Unlike him, she was no longer in Starfleet. So the rank, was no longer a concern. And her political position technically made her out rank him. Well sort of. She found it sweet that was deeply concerned.
“Let me rephrase that,” Ryan smiled easily. “I was trapped with you and apparently I need to be cleared to return to duty. Maybe I am injured and haven’t realized it yet.” He grinned then. “I am patient, I can wait until you are better.”
"You are not really good at lying, better leave that up to the politicians." Jasmine said, with a big grin. Very sweet of him, to want to be by her side. But he needed to help the crew of the Enterprise. And check the status of things. As much as she liked him being by her side, she needed answers.
“They can have it,” Ryan said with a smile. “I do have orders not to return to duty until I am assured you are doing well, give me some latitude and allow me this time.”
Jasmine shook her in disbelief, that he was still trying. She needed to change her tactics with him. Being direct was not working. "Your sweet, I am fine. Will be back up on my feet, in no time." Jasmine suggested to him. She did find it sweet, that he was concerned. She was hurt not immobilized, well not anymore. The doctor did a good job patching her up.
“I know you will be,” Ryan nodded. “You are one of the strongest people I have ever met. This will not hold you back.”
"You count on that as soon as the doc says I can leave. We are out of here." Jasmine suggested to him. She was anxious to get out of sickbay. She still wanted answers, and did not want to be left in the dark. Ryan needed to do his job, instead of focusing on her.
Ryan grinned. “I don’t think it will be in the next few minutes.” He looked around. “Might be a while in fact, they are busy.”
Jasmine stared him with a disappointing look on her face. "That's not reassuring. Your bedside manner needs work." She said, in a teasing voice.
Ryan smiled. “You know, I think before you know it, we will be out of here and I can take you to rest and spoil you.” He winked at her. “Better?”
"No, but I appreciate the offer." Jasmine said, in a teasing voice. She appreciated the fact that he was trying. She hated being couped up.
“I feel for you,” Ryan said with a smile. “I have always hated being in sickbay as well.”
"You dont have to say, since you hate being here. I have suggested on a few occasions already to get back to work. But your listening skills are lacking today." Jasmine pointed out to him. She was of course teasing him. She liked him being by her side.
“I may dislike sickbay,” Ryan smiled. “But I like you more so I am more than willing to make that sacrifice.”
"I appreciate you helping me, as they patched up my leg. But don't feel pressured or obligated to stay here. We still have no idea, what's going on out there. Being in here, is keeping me blinded to to what's happening out there. You could be a big help, getting me some answers. And helping the president." Jasmine said, she had no idea, that the President was no longer with them.
“I’ll stay a few more minutes and then I’ll step out and see if I can get some answers,” Ryan said. “And will come right back with them for you.”
"I'm not going anywhere, go. Get some answers, if they try to move me. I'll make sure you are the first to know." Jasmine said, giving him a serious look. She wanted some answers, being couped up in sickbay, was not helping her.
“I’m going,” Ryan said with a nod as he stood up. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
"You better, and Ryan I know you don't want to leave but thank you I really need to know what's going on out there." Jasmine said with a sincere look on her face.
“I see how important it is to you,” Ryan said with a smile. “I will get answers.”
Jasmine motion with her hand for him to lean in, and then she moved her hand closer to his head to pull him closer. Jasmine leaned in for a small kiss ignoring the slight discomfort that it caused. "Thank you my love." He said that the big grin on her face, and then she continued. "I'll see you soon." Jasmine said that she laid back down and feel more comfortable position.
“I’ll be back before you know it,” Ryan replied and smiled to himself. Jasmine showing him affection always made him feel special.
Jasmine watched him leave the room, as she took a deep sigh and laid down completely on the bio bed, to rest a little. The scene starts to fade away.
Ryan moved quickly on his way, wanting to come back with answers.
