A routine field exercise on a desolate world turns into a desperate fight for survival when a ghost from the galaxy’s past comes crashing down from the sky.
Under the blistering sun of an uninhabited desert planet, the crew and a squad of opinionated cadets are locked in a tactical "capture the flag" war game. Heat, exhaustion, and Phasers make for a brutal afternoon - until a burning transport barge cuts across the atmosphere and plummets into a craggy canyon miles away.
Investigating the smoking wreckage, the landing party discovers a grim remnant of the distant past: a sole Klingon warrior named Gokmehl, Daughter of Oshugh, desperate, hostile, and fiercely protective of his cargo. Cut off and heavily outnumbered, Gokmehl unleashes the deadliest asset at his disposal: a crate of ravenous, razor-fanged targs.
With hungry beasts stalking the rocks, Phasers dangerously underpowered for real combat, and a rogue survivor trying to hijack their shuttlecraft for an escape, a simple training exercise suddenly becomes a trial by fire.
To survive the canyon, the crew must wrangle wild predators, outmaneuver a warrior who would rather die in glory than surrender, and keep their argumentative cadets from turning on each other before the sun goes down. |
