History
| Personal History | Elara was left on the doorstep of an orphanage as an infant. Her earliest memories of her life was when she was listening to a teacher reading stories, while other children fought around her. At the age of 4 years, she started having headaches. After looking into her lineage, they found that she came from a long line of telepaths. However, sadly, there were only the knowledge. No names whatsoever. It was a blessing for Elara to find that several caretakers and teachers were telepaths. While they couldn't teach her everything, Elara learned enough to function in a normal environment without struggling too much. Life in the orphanage was tough. It was "survival of the fittest" 80% of the time. The other children fought for attention and praise from the adults. Elara felt very much out of place, for several reasons. She wasn't one to demand attention, or fight for praise. It seemed meaningless to her. Furthermore, she'd much rather read a book, of tingering with a padd. The only times she actually had proper contact with the adults, were when she was taught about telepathy. As a youngster, she had 1 great need: to learn as much as possible. Due to this insatiable need to learn, she started all levels of education much earlier than her peers. She found solace in learning. Having realized long ago that living beings could hurt other people with words, she decided to throw herself into her studies. Books and knowledge, while it could be littered with errors, mainly made sense. People made no sense to her. After she graduated with a science degree, she looked into where she could go. At the same time, she started searching for a new field of knowledge. Very much the observer, she listens more than she speaks. Personality traits: Strengths: - Honorable. Elara prefers honesty, truth and honor over most things. Even if it results in her stepping people over their toes. - Telepathy. Elara's telepathy is both good and bad. She is adept at listen quietly and can easily gather information. - Intelligent. Having studied since she was old enough to know what that meant, she has always had something on her. A book, or a padd, name it. - Curious. Elara is curiosity from hell. She wants to know how things work. She tends to have questions for every 2 words she hears in a conversation. Learning new things, no matter how she learned them, is usually the highlight of her day. Weaknesses: - Honorable. While Elara tends to stick to her principles, she dislikes being forced into situations where her honorable nature was being tested. - Telepathy. Elara's telepathy is mostly useful, at times, it puts a strain on her. - Socially awkward. Elara doesn't understand the people around her. She has next to no interest to even try understanding. - Absentminded. At times, when she is deep in a project or focusing on something, she loses track of time and can be hard to drag her out of that intense focus. - Too curious. Elara's barrage of questions can sometimes insult or annoy the people around her. |
